When BMW took the time to experiment and combine new ideas and new technologies into one medium sized executive/luxury car the result was the BMW 5 Series. For 2008 the luxury 5 Series car is redesigned inside and out and is fitted with a new 6-cylinder motor. The options of diesel and a V8 engine are also available. After fifteen years of absence from the BMW lineup the luxury sport coupe 6 Series returned in 2004 with both coupe as well as coupe convertible versions available. Updated versions of the 6 Series were released in the summer of 2007 and updated versions of M6 coupe and cabriolet are expected on the market soon.

The BMW 1 Series enjoys all of these qualities and more. Service costs aren't the cheapest but being a BMW , the depreciation will not be as high as similar class vehicles. A diesel would be recommended , paying the same emissions tax as a small 1. 2 petrol car and note , there is no sacrifice of engine performance when opting for any of the excellent BMW diesel engines.
